Nominations in key categories will be announced on a livestream at 11:30 a.m. ET. You can watch the livestream on the Television Academy website; on YouTube; or on social media: Facebook, TikTok or Instagram.
The livestream will be hosted by Emmy winners Liza Colón-Zayas (The Bear) Jeff Hiller (Somebody Somewhere), along with Television Academy chair Cris Abrego. It will be streamed live from the Wolf Theatre in the Academy’s Saban Media Center in North Hollywood, Calif.
The nominees in two closely watched categories – outstanding variety series and outstanding reality competition program – will be announced on NBC TODAY sometime between 7:45 a.m. ET and 8:20 a.m. ET.
The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, last year’s winner for outstanding variety series, is expected to be nominated again this year for its final season, along with Last Week Tonight With John Oliver and Saturday Night Live (which have each won eight top program Emmys), The Daily Show (which won in 2024) and Jimmy Kimmel Live! The Traitors, which has won outstanding reality competition program the last two years, is expected to be nominated again this year, along with The Amazing Race (which has won 10 times in the category), RuPaul’s Drag Race (five wins), Top Chef (one win) and Survivor, which has yet to win in the category despite eight nominations.
The 78th Emmy Awards will broadcast live coast-to-coast on Monday, Sept. 14 (8:00-11:00 p.m. ET/5:00-8:00 p.m. PT) on NBC and will stream live on Peacock. The Creative Arts Emmy Awards will take place on Saturday, Sept. 5, and Sunday, Sept. 6.
