Scooter Braun is no longer serving on HYBE’s board of directors, Billboard can confirm, though he remains with the company in an advisory capacity. The news comes a year after Braun exited as CEO of HYBE America in July 2025, with Isaac Lee stepping in. At the time, Braun was reported to be an executive advisor as a director of the board and a senior advisor to HYBE chairman Bang Si-Hyuk.

Braun did not respond to Billboard’s request for comment.

Braun first joined HYBE in 2021 after the South Korean music giant purchased his company, Ithaca Holdings, for $1.05 billion. The acquisition brought Braun’s management, label services and publishing to HYBE, including his clients Ariana Grande and Demi Lovato. He was named co-CEO of HYBE America alongside Lenzo Yoon and became sole CEO in January 2023.

In 2024, Braun announced he was retiring from artist management so he could focus on his role as CEO. When he stepped down as CEO the following year, a source told Billboard that he had reached the end of his contract with the company. As an advisor at HYBE, Braun has still had input on projects including KATSEYE and the Alan Chikin Chow YouTube series Alan’s Universe.

During his tenure at HYBE, Braun oversaw Big Machine Label Group (BMLG) and Quality Control Music. Braun had purchased Big Machine Label Group through his Ithaca Holdings in 2019 for $300 million; HYBE acquired Quality Control for $300 million in 2023.

HYBE America launched in 2019, with its headquarters located in Santa Monica, Calif. The company more recently picked up momentum with KATSEYE, a joint creation between HYBE America and Geffen Records.
