The Television Academy announced on Friday (July 17) the 19 categories to be presented during the 78th annual Emmy Awards telecast on Monday Sept. 14 and the 102 categories – you read that right – to be presented the previous weekend.

The seven music categories have long been awarded at the pre-telecast awards, as have two high-profile variety categories – outstanding variety special (live) and outstanding variety special (pre-recorded) – that rightfully should be presented on the telecast.
