Bunnie Xo Jokingly Compares Jelly Roll Divorce to Being Released From a 10-Year Prison Sentence

Laughter is the best medicine! Amid her divorce from Jelly Roll, Bunnie Xo returned with a new episode of her Dumb Blonde podcast and joked that — similar to a particular convict hitting up her DMs — she’s served her time.
In a clip from the episode that she posted Thursday (June 25) to her Instagram, Bunnie reads through some of the wildest messages she’s gotten since her split from the country star went public earlier in June. One of them was from a man claiming to be coming up on his release from prison after 10 years behind bars and wanting to get down and dirty with her once he’s out.
“After 10 years, he might need it,” joked Bunnie’s friend Meme Shahan.
“Same,” Bunnie said with perfect timing, causing everyone in the room to burst out laughing. “I just got out of a 10-year bid too, b—hes, what are we talking about?”
The memoir author was married to Jelly for almost a decade before he filed for divorce in May, something that came to light only a couple weeks ago when TMZ uncovered the court papers. A week prior to the latest episode of Dumb Blonde, Bunnie explained on her podcast that — even though she felt blindsided by Jelly’s decision to actually file the papers after she’d suggested he do so in an angry moment — she and her ex are still good friends.
Even so, she thinks the Grammy winner might not be a fan of her jokingly comparing their marriage to a prison sentence. “I’m gonna get a phone call,” Bunnie added good-naturedly. “J is gonna call me like, ‘What the f–k?’ It was a joke! Just cutting a rug, buddy.”
Before the new episode went live, Bunnie had poked fun at the thirsty men who’ve been filling up her DMs since her breakup went public in a hilarious clip on her Instagram. “Send help,” she joked at the time.
The video sparked curiosity from fans about what kind of messages she was receiving, leading Bunnie to share more on her latest podcast episode. In addition to the convict, she revealed: “I have a few rappers that are literally in my DMs like, ‘Yo.'”
But those rappers should take note that a two-letter message isn’t gonna cut it. “You gotta give me something more,” Bunnie said. “I’m never going to respond to a ‘Yo.'”
