Don't pay full price for the Oura Ring 5 — the Ring 4 is still the best sleep tracker I've tested and it's 48% off for Prime Day

If you've been eyeing up an Oura Ring, there's never been a better time to buy one. Not because the thinnest-ever, smartest-ever Ring 5 has just launched, but because the Oura Ring 4 is up to 48% off at Amazon this Prime Day.
That means our top-rated sleep tracker is down to its lowest-ever price of $226. Until now, $249 was the best price we'd ever seen it sell for — that extra $23 saving can cover your subscription fee for the next four months.
I've tested over a dozen sleep trackers the past year and the Oura Ring 4 is the only one I still go to bed with every single night. I'm yet to get my hands on the Oura Ring 5 (it's on its way), yet I can confidently recommend shopping the Oura Ring 4 for an outstanding price in current Amazon Prime Day sleep sales.

The Oura Ring 4 has been the trendiest smart ring worn by wellness enthusiasts since Fall 2024. In that time, it's seriously impressed tech reviewers here at Tom's Guide and beyond. This Prime Day, you can shop the black, silver, stealth, and brushed silver models for just $226 at Amazon (down from $399 and $18 less than it is on Oura's own website), while the gold is down to $256 from $499. Just remember to factor in a $5.99 monthly subscription fee to access all features the ring has to offer.

Hitting shelves in May 2026, the Oura Ring 5 is the newest sleep tracker on the block, promising unbeatable comfort (it's 40% smaller than its predecessor) and unrivalled data accuracy. Unsurprisingly, it hasn't undergone a a price cut this Prime Day, meaning you'll pay full MSRP starting at $399 for a silver model and rising to $499 for deep rose and stealth colorways. Honestly, considering the $173 price difference, I'd snap up the Ring 4 while it's still in stock.

What makes the Oura Ring 4 such a great sleep tracker?
If I had a dollar for every time someone asked me about my Oura Ring, I'd be able to fund my monthly Oura subscription no problem. But what are the features I boast about most?
Admittedly, it isn't my favorite tracker for my runs, cycles, or swims (for workout tracking, I rely on my trusty Garmin smartwatch), but by night, it's simply the best wearable I've tested.
It's comfy, accurate, and keeps me accountable. Under review following our robust sleep tracker testing methodology, the Oura Ring 4 came out on top, with nightly sleep reports matching up with my perceived sleep quality.
Said reports offer the most detailed metrics without becoming too overwhelming for average users (for reference, the Whoop MG is an equally good tracker but better suited to athletes who want VO2 max readings and more fitness-focussed data).
I especially love the Oura chronotype feature which has helped me create a consistent sleep routine that's in tune with my natural energy peaks and troughs throughout the 24-hour day. As a morning lark, my Oura Ring suggests relatively early sleep and wake windows, and I've noticed an improvement in my sleep quality after prioritising regular sleep timings over the past year.

What's more, the Oura app is loaded with sleep content including a personalised sleep advisor that literally tells me when my body could do with an extra hour of down time in the evenings, and a library of sleep sounds I can use to block out my partner's snoring or send my nephews to sleep when I'm babysitting.
The best thing? There's hardly any difference between the Oura Ring 4 and Oura Ring 5 in terms of sleep tracking functionality. The key difference between the two is design based (the Ring 5 is thinner and lighter). So, while it may be marginally more discreet to wear overnight, it's not a deal breaker worth $173 in my opinion.
Honestly, I've been waiting for the Ring 5 to release so I could tell all my friends to RUN to buy the Ring 4 at its lowest-ever price, and I'm not disappointed by Amazon's Prime Day deal this year.

Amazon is offering a free 30-day trial of Amazon Prime this week. As soon as you sign up, you'll get access to this year's Prime Day discounts on thousands of items, from mattresses to air fryers. Prime memberships (from $14.99 a month) also include access to Prime Video, Prime Reading, Prime Music, Amazon photo storage, plus free shipping.View Deal
