In my Sony WH-1000XM6 review, I described them as "a fantastic pair of over-ear headphones that combine the best design elements of their predecessors, while leveling up the sonic and ANC capabilities of what came before." And one year later, that still rings true.

To this day, I'm still astonished by how great the XM6 sound — their well-balanced, punchy, and dynamic audio is seriously addictive. They also married the convenience of the XM4's foldable design with the sleek look of the XM5, while improving the headband for an ultra-comfortable, flexible fit.

For me, the Sony WH-1000XM6 beat just about every rival in their price bracket, with more intricate, balanced sound than the Bose QuietComfort Gen 2 can plate up, and superior battery life and value compared to the AirPods Max 2.
