The DreamCloud is up to $1,700 off — here's why it beats all other 4th of July sleep deals for sheer value

At Tom's Guide we've unboxed and tested scores of mattresses, ranging from budget-friendly beds to some of the most luxurious options on the market. The mattress we've unboxed recently that stands out for its comfort vs value for money is the DreamCloud Classic, now $699 for a queen at DreamCloud.
We rate the DreamCloud as one of the best mattresses you can buy onlin, thanks to its blend of pressure relieving support and superb build quality at a mid-range price. After testing it thoroughly, we recommend it to both side and back sleepers looking for a great mattress for well under $1,000 for a queen.
Although we're seeing big discounts on some of our favorite beds in the run up to the 4th of July mattress sales, the current DreamCloud mattress deal is the sale we tend to see all year round. But don't let that put you off, this bed is reliably excellent value. Here's why...

Year-round DreamCloud mattress sales always offer excellent value for money, with a queen price currently sitting at $699 (this did drop to $599 for last week's rival Prime Day deals, but savings like that are ultra rare). While some holidays, like the 4th of July sales, offer time sensitive savings, this deal isn't one of them, so there's no immediate rush to buy. It comes with a 365-night sleep trial and a lifetime warranty, plus free delivery.

Hitting the right notes for value vs sleep comfort
After thoroughly testing it in our lab studio, we rate the DreamCloud Classic as the best mattress in a box you can buy, thanks to its blend of quality construction, superb sleep comfort and incredible value for money.
Thanks to its therapeutic memory foam top layer, the DreamCloud provides ample cushioning along the touch points of the mattress. That makes it a great option for side and back sleepers (stomach sleepers will likely need something firmer, like the Nectar Classic memory foam mattress).

The DreamCloud is a hybrid mattress, which means it's made with a blend of coils and comfort layers for support. That breathable construction allows air to pass through, which helps keep sleepers cool (reflected in our very respectable 3.5/5 score for temperature regulation based on hands-on testing and our thermal cam).
We did detect some motion transfer during testing, which means that restless couples might feel some disturbance when shifting positions. If strong motion isolation is a key area of performance for you, the EgoHome is also on sale this 4th of July, a memory foam bed that dampens movement effectively (hot sleepers be warned, the EgoHome holds on to bit of heat).
Ultimately, if you're looking for a better performing mattress all round, be prepared to pay around triple the price. But if you want a great bed for most sleepers without breaking the bank, the DreamCloud is our top recommendation.
Our top DreamCloud mattress alternative...

Granted, there are better mattresses than the DreamCloud Classic on the market — but they'll cost you. Case in point, the Saatva Classic, which scored an unprecedented 5 stars in our review and currently costs $1,829 for a queen in the Saatva 4th of July sales.
The Classic is a luxury mattress handcrafted in the US, available in two heights and three different firmness levels — so this really is a bed (almost) for everyone.
But with a weight capacity of 600lbs combined, heavier sleepers will need something that has been engineered to support additional weight (like the WinkBed plus).
Despite looking like it's been swiped from a 5-star luxury hotel, we particularly recommend the Saatva to those with back pain. That's thanks to its dual-coil design and patented lumbar crown for healthy spinal alignment.

The Saatva Classic is, hands down, the best hybrid mattress on the market. Right now, our semi-exclusive sale access unlocks $400 off all sizes in the current Saatva mattress sale, taking a queen down to $1,829 from $2,229 . We have tracked a small MSRP increase on the Classic (that's typical at this time of year), but $400 off is still the best deal you'll get. It comes with free white glove delivery, a 365 night sleep trial and a lifetime warranty.
